  • Eliminating and reducing stress is a vital part of getting healthy and living a balanced life. At Kona Pilates we see Stress Reduction as the most essential feature of our Mind-Body Fitness studio offerings.
  • Today there are more reasons (and ways) than ever to get fit and healthy. We believe for a fitness program to be the most effective, your body AND your mind need to be engaged. ALL sessions at Kona Pilates focus on the mind-body connection and provide equal portions of fun, learning, and physical challenge. When you engage your whole being, your mind and your body respond with greater ease and with increased energy levels, better function and improved stamina, allowing you to achieve more in life! 
  • It’s no secret that a regular practice of the Mind-Body Fitness programs of Contemporary STOTT Pilates, The GYROTONIC Method, Bootie Barre, and Chi Kung/Breathwork keep you younger—both in terms of the energy you have and your physical ability to keep doing the things you love. This powerful trifecta of Mind-Body Fitness programs act like a youth serum as your Mind-Body Fitness level affects how youthful you look, the way you move, and your ability to do whatever you want, whenever you want.
  • Personal Training in a one-on-one environment is the fastest way to the results you want. We are a "different breed" of Personal Trainers. Rather than working inside a crowded loud gym, we offer our Mind-Body Fitness sessions in our private tranquil and supportive studio environment where it is easier to focus on you and your needs. We utilize different equipment too, that is designed to "reform the body from the inside out."

  • Education is IMPORTANT: Both of our instructor/owners have thousands of hours of movement arts education and 25+ years of experience across multiple disciplines. Our instructor/owners are both licensed medical massage therapists with extensive training in injury prevention and rehabilitative exercise, making us two of the most educated movement arts professionals in all of Southern California and the world and Laura is a Master Teacher teaching the instructors of tomorrow,
  • You're smart, your exercise should be too. We teach Intelligent Exercise which yields powerful results. As movement arts educators, we believe in teaching you exactly which muscles you're supposed to be using in each exercise (and which ones should be at rest), and what the goal of each exercise is, so that you'll get the most out of your workouts with us. We are constantly told how differently we teach and how that style helps the exercises & concepts make sense; 
  • Knowledge is power—the more you know about your body, the more you'll feel confident making decisions about your health and take what you learn in the studio out into your life;
  • We've been there: Our owners Laura and Steve turned to Contemporary STOTT Pilates and GYROTONIC exercise to rehabilitate injuries themselves (as physical therapy did not). They understand injury and they understand what a body goes through as it ages (gracefully). We are not a studio of "young" instructors,
  • Time is money. We believe in "the honest hour" ~ our lessons are either a full 60 or 75 mins depending on the session type giving you the most value for your money;;
