Pilates (pronounced pill-ah-teez) is a unique form of exercise, created by Joseph Pilates in the early 1900s. STOTT Pilates is a contemporary approach to this complete exercise system performed on a collection of specialized apparatus (Reformer, Cadillac/Trapeze Table, Stability Chair, Ladder Barrel, Spine Corrector, Arc Barrel) as well as matwork (no apparatus). The system consists of stretching and strengthening exercises that allow you to build core strength & stability, correct “bad posture & biomechanics” habits & alleviate pain, and increase your physical vitality & joy of movement. Pilates is a “mind-body” workout that also increases your focus, balance, coordination, and body awareness. We ask that every new client begin their Pilates practice with a series of three Personal Training Sessions in order to learn the fundamentals and core principles of this amazing system. We believe the more personal attention to get in the beginning, the strong the foundation of your practice is and the faster the benefits come. Together, we'll get your body moving, your core activated, and chart the course for your success to meet your individual needs.
