Getting started is easy! Simply book your first private lesson (click on "book session now" to utilize our online booking request system).
GYROTONIC: We ask that every new client begin their GYROTONIC equipment practice with a series of private lessons in order to learn the fundamentals and core principles of this amazing system.
GYROKINESIS: We highly suggest beginning a GYROKINESIS practice with a private lesson to learn the key FUNdamentals of this amazing system. You may then continue to train privately, or join one of our existing GYROKINESIS group classes. We believe the more personal attention you receive in the beginning, the stronger the foundation of your practice is, and the faster the benefits come. Together, we'll get your body moving, your core activated, and chart the course for your success to meet your individual needs.

Two Paths...Same Destination
The GYROTONIC Expansion System is made up of two complimentary and inter-related pathways to freedom in movement: The GYROTONIC Method (on the equipment) and The GYROKINESIS Method (without equipment). Both methods were developed by Juliu Horvath, an ethnic Hungarian, and professional dancer from Romania. Horvath suffered a series of debilitating injuries during his dance career and began developing what are now known as the GYROTONIC and GYROKINESIS Methods as a way to heal himself and regain his strength and agility.
GYROTONIC exercises are performed on custom-designed GYROTONIC equipment, whereas GYROKINESIS exercises are performed on a mat and chair. Both GYROTONIC and GYROKINESIS exercise sequences are composed of spiraling, circular movements, which flow together seamlessly in rhythmic repetitions with corresponding breathing patterns. Each movement flows into the next, allowing the joints to move through a natural range of motion without jarring or compression. These carefully crafted sequences create balance, agility, strength and flexibility.
Both systems contain the same concepts, ideals and movements, while also having things that are unique to each method. "In the old days" all new students started with GYROKINESIS to learn these vital concepts and movements prior to taking those movements onto the equipment and as a way to practice on one's own or while traveling..

The human body is designed to work as one harmonious system, to follow arcing and spiraling paths of motion, and to transition from one movement to the next smoothly and efficiently. GYROTONIC Method creator, Juliu Horvath, designed a specialized line of equipment around these natural movement patterns. Because GYROTONIC equipment is highly adjustable, it can be customized to fit each persons unique physique and ability, adapting for things such as height, arm/leg length and range of motion. GYROTONIC exercise is performed on unique and beautiful hand-crafted wooden equipment which offers both support and the resistance of water. Exercising on the equipment provides similar benefits as yoga and swimming (producing long lean strong muscles and increased flexibility). Exercises include unique arching, spiraling, curling, and undulating movements (combined with breath, rhythm and flow) with counter balanced weights (yet without any strain to the body). The levers, pulleys and handles provide continuous resistance, developing muscles that are generally ignored in standard exercise approaches, while allowing your body to move in ways no other exercise system does.
