As with any form of exercise, consulting with your physician prior to beginning this or any exercise program is highly recommended. Kona Pilates
is committed to providing a safe and non-competitive environment for all of our students.



Getting started is easy! The best way to "know" how we can assist you (not if), is by experiencing one private lesson (with either Steve or Laura). In that lesson, we'll introduce you to your mind-body connection, engage muscles you didn't know you had, correct faulty movement patterns, and help ease you back onto the path of wellness.


Whether your goal is to join a group equipment class, seek relief from pain through therapeutic exercise, experience mind-body exercise, or simply check out what the studio is all about, we ask that all students new to our studio begin with a series of private lessons. This is where we get to know you, your specific goals, your medical history, and we teach you the foundational elements of movement and exercise unique to our studio. Then, together we can create a personalized exercise program for YOU and guide you into the types of sessions that will yield the most profound results for YOU!

Private & Duet Lessons (including Therapeutic Exercise)
Private Lessons are the Gold Standard in Pilates Education

Private and Duet lessons are the Gold Standard in Pilates and GYROTONIC® exercise.


Whether your goal is to join one of our group classes, reduce pain and improve fitness, or you are simply curious about how our work here at the studio can benefit you, this is the place to start!


Both Pilates and GYROTONIC® exercise were originally designed to be taught one-on-one so that each Lesson is custom tailored to meet your personal learning style, speed, and meet your goals.


To the richness of the Pilates and GYROTONIC® repertoires, we add in years of advanced training in therapeutic exercise as well as thousands of hours of training as Massage Therapists (trained extensively in injury prevention and rehabilitation). In each session, we draw the appropriate tool from our vast "toolbelts" to help you meet and exceed your goals.


Private and Duet Lessons are scheduled at your convenience, move at your pace, not at the pace of a group, and are the quickest way to make progress and transform your body.


Private lessons are also the choice for those who are working with an active or chronic injury/pain, and for those who prefer the undivided attention and hands-on cuing that only Private Lessons can provide.



We look forward to working with you and assisting you on your journey of transformation.


We are happy to work with your healthcare provider in our Private Therapeutic Exercise sessions to help return you to full function as quickly and gracefully as possible.

Pilates & GYROTONIC®  Equipment Sessions
Pilates group classes are a fun way to stay in shape

We ask that all new Pilates and GYROTONIC® students begin with a series of 3 private lessons (although 6 are highly recommended). These sessions are where you’ll receive one-on-one instruction in the basics so you can build a strong foundation for your practice. During these initial lessons we'll explore how to breathe, find and activate your core, introduce you to the Basic Principles that Pilates and/or GYROTONIC exercise are rooted in, and you'll learn how to set up the equipment and a series of fundamental exercises.

After your initial private series, we have a variety of options for you to continue your practice. Including duet and circuit sessions on the equipment as well as continuing with private lessons.




Not sure what will suit you best? Book your first session and we will be happy to guide you into a personalized program that will work best for you, your needs, and your budget. We also take requests for new class times and offerings.



Please note: if you are currently rehabilitating an injury, or currently under a doctor's care for an acute or chronic health condition, we ask that you continue to train privately as the challenges of a group class environment will not be a good match until a return to full function has been achieved. Together, we can get you there.
